For Clinics

Non-Surgical Spine Treatment with DRX™ at Your Clinic

ELTECH supplies DRX™ systems from the US manufacturer Excite Medical, installs them, trains your physicians, and services the equipment for its entire service life.

Why DRX™

What Your Clinic Gains

DRX™ systems give your clinic a service line that patients actively seek out and that competitors rarely offer.

  • A Steady Flow of Patients

    Spine conditions are among the most common reasons people see a doctor and miss work. A course under the manufacturer’s protocol lasts about six weeks, so patients return to the clinic regularly rather than visiting once.
  • Stand Out from Other Clinics

    DRX™ targets a single problem segment: from L1-L2 to L5-S1 in the lumbar spine and from C3-C4 to C7-T1 in the cervical spine. Traction tables stretch the entire spine at once.
  • Patients from Other Cities

    At the Ob Sanatorium, patients traveled from other cities in Altai Krai and from Kazakhstan for a course of DRX therapy.
  • Return on Investment

    We consider DRX™ one of the fastest-payback types of medical equipment. The payback period depends on staff training and a well-organized treatment process, which is why we place special emphasis on training.
  • A Predictable Workday

    A session on the system lasts about 30 minutes, and supporting procedures prescribed by the physician take another 10–15 minutes. A computer controls the force and direction of traction under the physician’s supervision.
  • Patient Comfort

    Most patients find the therapy comfortable and relaxing, and many fall asleep during the session. During the course, patients are not tied to the clinic and keep their usual lifestyle.
  • A Broad Range of Indications

    Herniated discs, bulging discs, sciatica, radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease, and facet syndrome. The systems are also used for prevention, athlete rehabilitation, sanatorium and resort practice, and after spine surgery.
  • Documents and Clearances

    The DRX9000 holds Roszdravnadzor registration certificate No. FSZ 2011/11153. In the US, DRX systems are FDA-cleared (510(k)).

Training

How We Train Physicians and Staff

Training is delivered by the manufacturer’s US specialists and by Russian instructors trained by Excite Medical’s clinical specialists. Instructors include Dr. Glen K. Pettersen (D.C.), who in 2012 was Director of DRX Training and Instructor Development at Excite Medical and one of the developers of the DRX treatment protocols. He runs a private practice and bases his courses on practical clinical guidelines.

Clinical training program:

  • patient selection, indications, and contraindications;
  • the manufacturer’s treatment procedures and protocols;
  • clinical guidelines for use;
  • operating the system and its safety features;
  • patient positioning and system demonstration.

Duration: 2–4 days. The length depends on which equipment was purchased, how many units, and how many people are being trained. Physicians who complete the program receive Excite Medical clinical training certificates.

On-site training courses for physicians have already been held in Kazan, St. Petersburg, Ufa, and Novosibirsk.

Technical training. We train your clinic staff to work with the installed equipment. Our engineers were trained by the manufacturer: Excite Medical has confirmed our technical specialist’s authorization to install, service, and repair DRX9000™ and DRX9500™ systems.

Configuration

Which Configuration to Choose

If your clinic is installing a single system, we recommend the DRX9000 + DRX9000C (DRX5000) combination system: it treats both the lumbar and the cervical spine.

If you are opening a full-service clinic for spine treatment on DRX™ systems with room to grow, our experience shows it is better to install two systems: the combination system plus a separate DRX9000 for the lumbar spine. Of all patients, 70–75% come in with lumbar problems, and a second lumbar system lets you treat them without interruptions or waiting lists.

  • DRX9000 — lumbar spine (from L1-L2 to L5-S1)
  • DRX9000C (DRX5000) — cervical attachment for the DRX9000; does not operate on its own
  • DRX9500 (DRX5000) — standalone cervical system with its own couch
  • DRX9000 + DRX9000C (DRX5000) — combination system for the lumbar and cervical spine

Clinic Experience

What Clinics Using DRX™ Say

  • During treatment, the patient is not tied to the clinic and faces no strict lifestyle restrictions, which is of course a major advantage of this treatment. […] Operating the system is not difficult, which makes it possible to train a new physician to use it in a short time.
