Cervical and Thoracic Spine
DRX9500 (DRX5000)
A standalone system with an integrated couch for non-surgical treatment of cervical and thoracic spine pain. The same technology as the DRX9000, in a separate device.
About the System
A Standalone Cervical System
The DRX9500 (DRX5000) is a standalone system with an integrated couch that provides a comprehensive approach to treating thoracic and cervical spine pain caused by disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, or disc deformation.
Functionally, the DRX9500 is no different from the DRX9000C attachment: both devices are designed to treat the cervical spine. The difference is in the design: the DRX9500 operates on its own, with its own couch, scale, and computer, and does not require a DRX9000.
The system continuously monitors tension force and cervical angle to make decompression as comfortable and effective as possible.
- Does not require a DRX9000
- Segments C3-C4 through C7-T1
- Motorized-lift couch with platform scale
- 0–23 kg pull with continuous feedback
- Safety handrails for patient entry and exit

Key Features
Everything You Need in One Device
-
Integrated Couch
A soft leather couch with motorized lift brings the patient into the treatment position automatically and effortlessly. -
Fixed Head Harness
A conforming head support with an open design leaves the jaw free. Interchangeable supports in four sizes are matched to the patient. -
Cervical Level Selector
Six angle presets: C3 at 2°, C4 at 4°, C5 at 8°, C6 at 13°, C7 at 17°, and 0°, plus manual fine-tuning. -
Platform Scale
The patient’s weight goes straight to the computer for load calculation. -
Five Load Profiles
From gentle profile 1 to intensive profile 5; at least 18 cycles, about 30 minutes per session. -
Touchscreen Computer and Protocol
The protocol is entered on a touchscreen, the database stores treatment history, and the printer produces a report for every session. -
Safety
The safety switch in the patient’s hand instantly drops tension to zero, the Stop button releases force immediately, and handrails help the patient get on and off.
Indications
Who Is a Candidate for DRX9500 Treatment
According to the manufacturer’s intended use, the DRX9500 provides a treatment program for neck and shoulder pain. Under the physician’s direction, each session applies intermittent, cyclic traction forces that relieve pressure on the structures causing pain by decompressing the intervertebral discs.
- cervical and thoracic disc herniations;
- disc protrusions and bulges;
- degenerative disc changes (degenerative disc disease);
- facet syndrome.
The course is 18 sessions over 6 weeks. Loads on the cervical spine are increased more slowly than on the lumbar spine.
Contraindications: spinal instability, including fracture; spinal infections (tuberculosis, osteomyelitis); metal implants and prostheses in the spine; spinal tumor; sequestered herniation; conditions involving softening of bone tissue; diseases of the blood vessels supplying the spine. The physician makes the treatment decision based on examination and MRI findings.

Sources: DRX9500 manual (64-0003, revision D), Excite Medical dimension specification. The manual lists a weight of 850 lb with an incorrect conversion of “317 kg”; the correct conversion is ≈ 386 kg. A Russian-language ELTECH fact sheet contains rounded values (259 × 81 × 132 cm, about 300 kg); these differ from the manufacturer’s specification and are not used.
