Every Region of the Spine
DRX9000 + DRX9000C (DRX5000)
A combination system for treating the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine on a single device. Our recommendation for clinics installing one DRX™ system.
About the System
Two Treatment Areas in One Room
The combination system is the DRX9000 with the DRX9000C (DRX5000) cervical attachment installed. Together they form a device that can treat every region of the spine: the lumbar spine (segments L1-L2 through L5-S1) as well as the cervical and thoracic spine (C3-C4 through C7-T1).
According to the manufacturer’s intended use, the system is a primary treatment for pain and dysfunction in patients with severe low back pain, neck pain, and sciatica. It is designed to relieve pain in compressive and degenerative spinal conditions through decompression.
Both modules use the same technology: a servo drive, a closed feedback loop, a logarithmic force curve, and a precise angle of pull aimed at the specific disc.
- Lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine
- The cervical module uses the DRX9000 table and control pendant
- 0–68 kg pull for the lower back and 0–23 kg for the neck
- DRX9000 FDA-cleared (510(k), K060735); DRX5000 cervical system K023160
- Recommended configuration for a single-system clinic

Key Features
Two Systems’ Capabilities on One Platform
-
DRX9000 Lumbar Module
Split table with a floating lower section, lordotic air cushion, pelvic and chest harnesses, and axillary supports. Six angle presets from 0° to 25°. -
DRX9000C Cervical Module
Removable head harness that cradles the occiput with no pressure on the jaw, head supports in four sizes, and six angle presets from 0° to 17°. -
Shared Table
The cervical attachment uses the DRX9000’s motorized-lift leather table. Each module has its own touchscreen computer, patient database, and protocol printing. -
Scale and Automatic Calculation
The platform scale sends the patient’s weight to the software, and the system suggests loads for the selected protocol. -
Flexible Profiles
Tension and relaxation cycles are set for each patient; five load ramp profiles are available for the cervical spine. -
Multilevel Safety
A safety switch in the patient’s hand, a Stop button, and table motor lockout whenever the cervical head harness is connected.
Indications
Who Is a Candidate for Treatment on the Combination System
Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of:
- lumbar, thoracic, and cervical disc herniations;
- disc protrusions (bulges);
- degenerative disc changes (degenerative disc disease);
- facet syndrome;
- sciatica and radiculopathy.
The method is also used as part of comprehensive treatment, in post-surgical rehabilitation, in sports rehabilitation, at sanatoriums and health resorts, and for prevention.
Course of treatment: lumbar spine, at least 20 sessions over 6 weeks; cervical spine, 18 sessions over 6 weeks. Each session on the device takes about 30 minutes.
Contraindications include pregnancy, metastatic cancer and spinal tumors, severe osteoporosis and conditions involving bone softening, spinal instability, recent fractures, spinal infections, metal implants in the spine, and sequestered herniation. The full list is provided in the manufacturer’s protocols; the physician makes the treatment decision based on examination and MRI findings.

Sources: Excite Medical dimension specification, DRX9000 (64-0001) and DRX9000C (64-0002) manuals, packing lists. The manufacturer converts the 126 in length as 312 cm and in one place lists the width as 52 in; the correct conversion of 126 in is ≈ 320 cm, and the width of the assembled system is 32.5 in, the same as the DRX9000. A Russian-language ELTECH fact sheet contains rounded values (359 × 81 × 220 cm, about 1000 kg); these differ from the manufacturer’s specification and are not used.
