Cervical and Thoracic Spine
DRX9000C (DRX5000)
A cervical attachment that turns the DRX9000 into a combination system for treating every region of the spine. Added to a device already in operation.
About the Attachment
Cervical Decompression Built on the DRX9000
The DRX9000C (DRX5000) is designed for patients with pain in the cervical and thoracic spine, treating segments C3-C4 through C7-T1. It can be added to any DRX9000 already installed or purchased up front as part of a combination system.
As with the DRX9000, treatment acts on a single segment rather than the whole spine. The muscle memory effect is eliminated, and gradual, targeted treatment relieves nerve impingement: the intervertebral space increases, the herniation shrinks, and disc hydration and mass increase.
The attachment works only together with the DRX9000, using its motorized-lift table and operator control pendant. The DRX9000C cannot operate on its own.
- Segments C3-C4 through C7-T1
- Removable head harness that cradles the occiput, with no pressure on the jaw
- 0–23 kg pull with continuous feedback
- Five load ramp profiles
- DRX5000 cervical system FDA-cleared (510(k), K023160)

Key Features
Gentle Precision for the Mobile Cervical Spine
-
Removable Head Harness
The harness gently cradles the back of the head with a conforming foam support, and its open design leaves the jaw free. After the session, it detaches and can be carried like a case. -
Four Head Support Sizes
Interchangeable supports, sizes 1 through 4, are designed from research on neck and skull morphology for maximum comfort with minimal restriction. -
Feedback in the Head Harness
The tension control system is built into the head harness and continuously sends data to the computer. The support and tension assembly glides almost without friction, with up to 3.5 in (≈ 8.9 cm) of travel. -
Cervical Level Selector
Six angle presets: C3 at 2°, C4 at 4°, C5 at 8°, C6 at 13°, C7 at 17°, and 0°, plus manual fine-tuning. Angle adjustment is locked during treatment. -
Five Load Profiles
From the gentlest, profile 1, to the most intensive, profile 5. Slower profiles are recommended for new patients; at least 18 cycles, about 30 minutes. -
Protection Against Accidental Movement
When the head harness is connected, the DRX9000 table motors are disabled. The safety switch in the patient’s hand instantly drops tension to zero.
Indications
Who Is a Candidate for DRX9000C Treatment
According to the manufacturer’s intended use, the attachment provides a treatment program for neck and shoulder pain. Under the physician’s direction, each session applies intermittent, cyclic traction forces that relieve pressure on the structures causing pain.
- cervical disc herniations;
- disc protrusions and bulges;
- degenerative disc changes (degenerative disc disease);
- facet syndrome;
- early-stage bony stenosis and post-surgical disc conditions, at the physician’s discretion.
The cervical spine is more mobile, so loads are increased more slowly and gently than for the lumbar spine. The course is 18 sessions over 6 weeks.
Contraindications: spinal instability, including fracture; spinal infections (tuberculosis, osteomyelitis); metal implants and prostheses in the spine; spinal tumor; sequestered herniation; conditions involving softening of bone tissue; diseases of the blood vessels supplying the spine. The physician makes the treatment decision based on examination and MRI findings.
